The local raven gangs were having a turf war on the other side of the block this morning. at the height of it, there were probably fifteen or so ravens dive bombing each other. The tree they are over has been used for years by a pair of Great Horned owls. Note the owl in the tree keeping a close eye on the raven ruckus.

Probably just a Raven training exercise. They are just getting in shape to take over the world next year. Around our area their 'gangs' are very aggressive about attacking other birds.

Makes me think of the movie..."The Birds" an Alfred Hitchcock flick. It's really neat seeing the owl watching them, with #4 being my favorite of him looking straight up at them.

The owl and his mate have kicked the crap out of the ravens every year for at least the last five years while raising their owlets in that tree.

Thats some great action, wonder what happened to the Ravens, carrying on like that. The Owl sure does look confidant. Great series.
