100 -400 IS

can anyone offer any suggestions based upon simular experience on cleaning dust from the interior of the 100- 400 IS LENS ?

Don't. First, you'd need one helluva lot of dust to make a difference in your pictures. Second, taking it apart to any extent will mean having to worry about getting everything realigned properly or you'll end up worse off than when you started. Better to send it back to Canon.

I do see spots on the screen of my computer during Photoshop work .my objective is to have it cleaned up before i attempt to sell the lens.

If you see spots on your photos they're from dust on the sensor, not from anything on the lens. Dust on the lens might cause some overall softness, especially if severe, but is too far out of the image plane and subject plane to come into focus enough to make a visible spot.
