Very nice set Mike. That second shot is fantastic! Great PP there.

Ive actually done very very little to that shot. Pretty close to straight of except a bit of color that i have with an action and some contrast. All done in LR. I was carrying a flash in my bag and the room was dark. Just guessed the flash setting and stuck the camera in through a small opening to get the shot. Think im gonna do some work to it and enter it in a print comp for PPA this year.

Any day now Robin Leach will be knocking at your door :)

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

Very cool Mike, thanks for sharing the set up as well. Hope to see the final outcome when you finish working on it.
Last shot is great as well.

Mike,

On the Chichen Itza shot, where are all the people? Last time I was there it was crawling with people.

i broke away from our guide and just timed things and found an angle that would let me get as many people out of the shot as possible....luck was on my side....after about 5 minutes of waiting i was able to get several with no one in them... and the place was packed...just got super lucky.

The last time I was there they let you walk (climb) up to the top. Once my wife got to the top, she didn't want to come down - not because of the view but going down was very, very scary. Some of the steps were eroded away and also slippery.

Interesting shots... we were in Playa del Carmen the past 2 weeks, just came back last Friday. Incidentally, we also stayed at the Barcelo resort, went to Chichen Itza and Tulum (did not managed to get to Coba) and I shot some birds at the resort... We also visited a Mayan family that looks just like the one you visited. Many of the children were away when we visited, but looking at the photos on FB it could have been the same family... Their spider monkey is called Natasha.

I have posted some photos from our visit to the Mayan family here https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1279186 and will post more shots from the trip in travel and birding forums.
