In latin it´s a Buteo lagopus, Rough-legged Buzzard.

Sorry for that, it´s taken handheld with my Canon 1dmk2 and 500mm + 1.4 ext.

Both are great, but I think I like the 2nd one better. Very impressive given that it's handheld.

Very nice shots with interesting diffusion of light through the feathers.

Lovely captures Tommy. Number 2 is very sharp and my favourite. How do you fellows handhold a 500mm lens? I seem to wobble all over when I hold my Bigma.

Damn you! I'm so jealous, nice shots! That's one of my favorite birds. They come in a dark and light form. I always see them from great distances away.:(
