Like the shot, her eyes, the snow flying from her skates as she carves through the turn, the puck. One small thing to make it pop more, it's about a stop and a half underexposed. When you look at this photo's histogram (and most hockey images), the big peak you see should be on the far right side, with no/very little space between the right side and the peak.

Thanks for the comments - much appreciated.
I have been shooting hockey for a while now - and still find myself betwixt and between high ISO (2500 to 3200) or sticking to ISO 1600 ... I find that the higher ISO blows out the ice and boards too much - and if I bump the exposure down I sit with more noise than when I use ISO 1600. However - I get some GREAT shots at higher ISO ... but my keep percentage is less than if I set and stayed on ISO 1600.

btw - In my comments I said - coming round the back of the net - this it was not - she had picked up the puck at home bench and was swinging round to skate up. :p
