Why are there TWO sets of the same exact photos in this thread?

OP, 1 and 3 are my favorites, but they're all great shots!

I'm thinking a reply went haywire (for the dupe photos), as for 2 #2's, they couldn't figure out who was number 1 so they made 2 #2's...that's just how they roll :)

Flying a spare. Not uncommon. If I recall correctly they also rotate the jets every so often, so maybe they rotated and repainted #1 but haven't repainted the "old" #2 yet.

Was that the morning practice or the afternoon practice? I remember seeing 2 #2s sitting on the ramp with #7 during the afternoon practice too.

#1 plane was down for maintenance or something probably that's why there are two number #2's.

This was the AM practice.

Yeah I just looked at my afternoon practice shots and they had planes 1-6, plus 2 #2s parked, so at some point there were 3 #2s sitting on the ramp.

Great shots, Chris. Wish we could get these opportunities on the east coast.

FYI: The aviator names and numbers on the Blue's aircraft are decals and can quickly be removed and changed. No need for paint. Right now the Blues are in winter training so the need to have pilots fly a correctly numbered aircraft is about nonexistent. The Blue's actually have 15 or 16 aircraft assigned to their squadron.

Radial engines don't actually leak oil, by the way. They just mark their territory!
