After much anguish, I finally figured out how to get these on here.

I like the composition, balance, exposure and colors of the second one, and I like the simplicity of the first.

Feel free to criticize or comment to your heart's content.

I can see myself walking up to my German Shorthair on point in either one of those - nice work!

Thanks for the nice words. I was also hoping for some critiques. :-)

I don't feel qualified to "critique" but I really like the stubble field shot. N Dakota is a beautiful and diverse state, always enjoy traveling there, you should take and share more shots of it. You might want to post in the Critique Corner sometime if you want advice and or opinions on your photos.

ickmcdon,
Great shots both. My only critique (and its very minor one, other than I did not shoot #1 myself lol) is #1 seems a touch soft. This could be due to compression from uploading to the net etc. But otherwise the composition is great and the patterns in the field and the lines of the fences make for a great pic. well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Doug! I actually like the second one better, but the colors didn't come through on here like they are in the original.

The first one has the makings of a good photo. You've got some vignetting that I would correct. Also the sky is just drab unfortunately. I know we can't always get what we want in a sky. The patters in the field are very nice, and with a better sky, cropping some of the foreground out or getting closer and better light it could make an excellent shot.

The second one I'm afraid I don't really care for. The color is nice, but there isn't really anything in the shot otherwise and there is a lot of dead grass. The light is also very flat. I would say get closer and try for some detail shots. The sky in the upper right draws your eye away from the photo.

Thanks CoPhotoGuy!! That's the kind of comments I was hoping for. I can learn from that.

I like #1, but some better lighting would go a long way.
