Well just purchased a 60D and a 100 2.8 still learning after comming from a P/S fuji. this is a Orb Weaver Spider That has made its home in our rose bush. shot in Raw AV mode. hand held. Macro sure is a new realm to discover. cheers for looking appreciate any feedback. my first post after viewing these forums and only asking questions for years, :lol:

Hi Rick, I'm learning to use the same lens at the moment. You would think that at 1/160 and with IS, that camera movement would not be an issue hand held - but I'm reaching the conclusion that a tripod is pretty much required if you want crystal clear images.

Yes Iv'e kinda been thinking that also just ordered myself a shutter release as well. now just need some bugs to practice on.

good start! no need for tripods, get a flash diffused, sink the speed and close your aperture in the f11 to f16 and you will get some amazing results, you can always read this tread by lordV Macro Hints and tips https://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php​?t=807056
