Canis is latin for wolf and has been my screenname on the forums for quite some time. What I want is a opaque wolf head with canis images in a script writing underneath the wolf.

I am thinking this wolf head, change it from black to white and make it opaque.

thanks!

Put the wolf on you web site or business cards.
Keep your watermark simple. No need for an image, copyright, or the word"Photography" on a watermark.
Just your name in a nice font of your choice

my name is not that exciting though haha.. Daniel Boot :( Although I love my family, I wish my last name was a little more exciting. Maybe using my middle name would yield a better response haha, Daniel Wesley or Daniel Wes.. I know it sounds a bit trivial and juvenile, but image means a lot, anything that will make an impression on a prospective client is obviously important(in addition to the photo quality of course) . I will definitely use the wolf in my business card to create some sort of recognizable logo and keep it clean and professional. Black card with white wolf head / script writing with information on the back(white background and black with red accents or all red writing on the back) I have been asked for business cards before and have not yet made any so that will be the next step to making a name for myself.

Are you the copyright owner of the image and, if not, do you have a license to use it for commercial purposes?

If the value of your business is predicated the protections provided by copyright law it is important to ensure you aren't infringing someone else's rights in that regard.

If you have Illustrator just trace the paths, and make some modifications, such as the colour inversion you want, change the direction the light is shining on the wolf's face, etc. Then you have a new image, fully yours.

I made a lower contrast version of the wolf logo, and put it into one of my own photos to show you how it looks. When I place the watermark, I used Paintshop Pro and made the logo 15% transparent, too. I know you said you wanted opaque, but just found it too obtrusive as black and opaque.

If you like it, post a private email to me and I will send the logo to you.

You also mentioned having the colors inverted. If you invert, I would suggest adding a drop shadow to help define the logos edges. I would also suggest a reduced opacity and saving the logo image as a .png to preserve the transparency.

Here's a quick example on one of my images. I left the logo larger than it should be for a better idea of how it looks.

Removing the white background is simple, as is inverting the black to a white image. But as others have said, it needs to be your image otherwise we are into copyright issues.

In the past I have saved a signature as a brush style. This allowed me to apply it as a seperate layer in whatever colour and opacity I wanted, before flattening it.

Wilt, all I can see is a blurred LHS?
