Was down at my local park when this pair of kites was hunting along the creek banks

I would have called it a black-winged if not for the eyes.

Thanks! Yes those red eyes are amazing, and yes they sure do hover. For a while it was almost posing for me, hovering for a good minute over one spot before diving down on an unlucky mouse.

Here is a hover shot from the next day. Same bird, same location.
