I bought a 100L because weather's been crappy ever since I got my 85L and I've been stuck inside. Figured I could have some fun inside with my camera if I had a macro lens.

Here's my first actual attempted shoot with the 100L. I have no idea about lighting properly in macro, just kind of put this together. C&C is welcome.

Wow that is a beautiful capture for your first time. There's a lot of bad drop photos out there and this isn't one of them. Very crisp and well lit!

Lovely work.

How did you light/trigger it?

I used two bare 580EX. One directly above the area of the water drop, one camera left pointed at the blue background which was just a blue school folder. This gave the water a blue cast in a clear bowl. Triggered via Yongnuo RF-602 wireless receivers.

Thanks guys!

Really nice! I'd wish the water were the same color so I could display them both together.

I've never attempted anything like this, but it looks difficult, so kudos!

Sweet! Love the smoothness of these, not over sharp. Well done!
