My cat, 'AP' (Pronounce both letters separately). A blue-point siamese. He's about a year old and so far he's one of the most amazing cats I've owned. His name is actually an acronym; don't make fun of him (or me), but it's Andromedus Poseidon. The first part being a spin-off of the galaxy Andromeda, and the second being Poseidon, the Greek god.

K I'm done showing him off now.

Shooting: A Canon 400D with the 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 kit lens, a 70-300mm f/4 - 5.6 and a 35 - 105mm f/3.4 - 4.5 (The 70-300 and the 35-105 are currently residing with my mom, who also owns a 400D and a 18-55 kit lens).

my cat has this pose down like a champion! :p

beautiful cat. Siamese cats are very cool. I wish I had pictures of my moms Persian. we used to breed them for a little bit and she was an awesome cat. kinda shy, but when my wife (GF at the time) met my parents, she went straight to her for petting (which surprised EVERYONE since she would run and hide when a stranger came by).

LOL _

your cats are saying - "if you take one more picture of me I'm going to . . . . " - you know the rest - hah!

do you have an off camera flash? that would help with the red eye.

In this thread we're too busy looking at the pics of cool cats to bother reading words posted by people who can't figure out how to post an image from their flickr. :p

That's nice. Is it on topic for this thread?

do you mean this topic?

"In this thread we're too busy looking at the pics of cool cats to bother reading words posted by people who can't figure out how to post an image from their flickr."

well then yes. maybe you can enlighten me as you seem to know so much - and do correct me if I am wrong.

if I use the "how to post an image from their flickr" method, then I don't get a head count of page views on my flickr page.

if I use the disapproved of method then I do get the views count.

any thoughts on how to do it both ways with one link?

If you want a count of views that doesn't require anybody to click the link then you need a different host because flickr doesn't offer what you're looking for.

Their stats are worthless. If somebody does click your link then it will record a view of that image and say that POTN is the referrer. But if that person then takes a look through your photostream and looks at the images in your cats set then the views will all be recorded with flickr as the referrer.

For more info and some suggestions of hosts that offer what you're looking for, you might be able to find something in the "presentation" forum where this discussion would be on-topic...

so why is it an issue for me or anyone to use a link to an image on my flickr page as opposed to a link to that image on the flickr server somewhere that doesn't go through the flickr website?
