Is that cat tied out on a leash?
Yep. Occasionally, I like to take the cats outside and get pictures, but Buffy's the one I can't trust. If she thinks she can, she'll shoot for the hills. My other two girls are easier; if they start getting out of hand, simply bringing out Jake (the dog) makes them behave. Worst case scenario, Molly (the black and white) tries to wander off anyway, and Jake will round her up and pretty much chase her back to the front door (Willow takes a while to warm up, merely munching away on grass, but after a half-hour to an hour, she starts getting the zoomies, where she takes one look at you and then flattens out and races off a few feet. Looks back at you, flattens herself and runs in the opposite direction. All she needs is to see Jake sitting beside me and she mellows out, won't even enjoy the grass anymore). But with Buffy, she's a quick girl, and she's long ago figured out that when it comes to speed, Jake can't match her (and trust me, he's tried). So Buffy goes on a leash, as a sort of backup. I don't like to encourage the outdoors too much, though (Buffy's our door-darter) so I tend to only bring Buffy out if she's spent a couple of months doing really well at not trying to sneak outside.
