I couldn't resist.

Probably won't make much sense to those who have never read HP Lovecraft but...

This is a photo of my cat Eddie, who passed almost two years ago from complications of being FIV+. I kept him healthy for over 5 years since his FIV+ status was diagnosed by working with a homeopathic vet in addition to his regular vet, and giving him homeopathic nutritional supplements every day. He was the LOVE of my life. I have never loved anyone or anything as much as I loved him. He was the sweetest and most loving soul I have ever known. He slept in my arms every night I was with him, and it was the most wonderful experience. I cherished every moment I had with him. He was also a very beautiful cat, and everyone who knew him loved him.

This is my current cat, Lucky. I adopted him about a year ago, when I felt I was ready to, after losing Eddie. He is a very sweet and loving cat I adopted from a rescue agency, and I love him very much, too. He has added a great deal to my life after spending a year alone, grieving Eddie's passing. He is very much his own man, and quite a character. He is very vocal and seems to have about 100 different vocalizations. He really enjoys interacting with people and just a wonderful cat. I feel very fortunate to have found him. Lucky is up on my desk snuggling wih me right now as I write this.

hey all - i really like reading the little stories ppl sometimes post with their cat portraits, lets me know how much these cats are loved by their photographers! so here's this kitty's story:

miffy, born last december to feral tortie mum who was slowly tamed as she was starving trying to feed 3 kittens on her own. all 3 kittens were subsequently caught and tamed in january, and eventually let back out to be with mum in the yard. after a few weeks, 2 of the kittens and their rescued mum sadly disappeared one by one, and miffy is all we have left of our little wild family. she is a timid little thing, only half the size she ought to be, but so sweet and she loves attention and games, and has fit in well with our other 4 cats. all our cats are ex-feral or abandoned/rescued.

in this photo she is trying to kill a grass stem... her tongue is ALWAYS poking out, it's her trademark

First shots to test out my new 580ex II flash. I've never used anything other than a pop-up flash.

Some beautiful kittys here. Lots of nice stories to go with them too.
Here's our cat Tigerlily, she's about 14 months old. We've had her since she was 6 weeks. She's a real little character. She is also quite the destructive type ;). Always has lots of energy. I put one of her in another thread a couple of days ago. There is so many of her. Here's two more. It's great to have someone to practice portraits on all the time!

I love cats, and I usually follow mine around the house trying to use them as my test subjects for new photography adventures :p

Here's one of my Mom's cat Gus that I took over Thanksgiving Break:
