I recently sold a lens on ebay. I am so sorry I did that. I regret not putting it on here and offering it to a person with not only knowledge of its use abilities, pros and cons. They get your merchandise and feel like they can make deals after a sale, using feedback as a threat.

In general I know I will never do this again but has anyone done this and totally regret the moment they did the sale.

So someone is mad they spent a lot of money on a lens and it didn't make them do as well as they hoped?

Nope, I don't have regrets. If I miss what I sold, I buy another.

I regret the fact that I sold it to the person. He now wants to try and renegotiate the price for a sale. I gave him a great deal and now he is not satisfied. I am offering money back, but instead he wants me to lower the price and he keep the lens even though he claims it sucks and is damaged. The lens is 3 weeks old never even mounted to the camera. Really sorry I sold it to him there were others that knew the lens and wanted it but I closed the auction for him, that is the second regret. 3 regrets closing the auction, lowering my price, and selling to this guy.

I picked up a lens form a guy right here on the forum and the deal and the item was flawless. I was hoping that it would have gone the same.

This is a common problem on EBay. See if you dig up rhe recent thread on someone selling a B+W CPL there and the nightmare from that sale. Hopefuly, you have the s/n of that lens you sold.

That's what happens on Fleabay now. The buyers know that they can get away with almost anything, so the sellers get the shaft. I recently sold a bunch of stuff through the forum and Craig's List. No problems at all.

Ebay can kiss my fat butt. I won't sell anything there again.

Sounds like you encountered a shady buyer. I don't sell on ebay, but I've sold a lot of items on POTN and Craiglist, and have not encountered a problem yet. Sorry to hear that you're going through this and I hope it can be resolved soon.

I won't sell or buy on EBay - sold a bunch of the high end lenses on Amazon, and done well on CL with a few too. Sold one or two here. My last two purchases on EBay were a real disappointment, I avoid the place entirely.

I love the "its broken, but I'll just keep it for x amount..." LOL - seems to be more an more common, judging by threads here anyway.

Ebay can solve the problem. Allow buyer feedback. This gives the seller a chance to say no.

I immediately told him that I just had purchased the lens from 47th street photo and would refund his money as soon as I had the lens back in my possession. But he still continued to haggle. I dont feel the need to haggle with an item that I know is new and good and not damaged to a person of that caliber. So he threatens me with a negative feedback if I dont agree to take money off because he files a buyers complaint about the item not being as described, ebay goes for that but I didnt so I told him full refund once the lens is received and inspected. I dont know because I have been buying and selling for so many years there and never once have I encountered such a butt like this one before. I have learned a valuable lesson for sure. I just really regret the whole ordeal from start to finish and there were several others that were interested and I hit the AHole lottery....

That's a pretty standard game; refund or get negative feedback. Tell him to pound sand, and since you'll (hopefully) not be dealing with EBay in the future the feedback is meaningless.

The funny thing is he wants to keep the lens and tells them he will be happy to receive at first $50 then he dropped the reduced threat to $25. It was so sad to even read his emails. I sent them all to Ebay and they still will find in favor of the sleaze bag. I will make sure I sell on other sites from now on it is so sad to know that people can be so low and the hosting site as big as Ebay listens to him. Even though he still wants something that he claims is not as I described it and damaged but yet and still he WANTED to keep it for more money off and they cant pull their heads out of their butts long enough to see a scam.
