Accidental skewed perspective shot

I somehow got this Temple Grandin shot at a recent college basketball game. The gal in blue is actually shorter than the gal in white. So why does she look like a giant?

she is standing taller
white jersey is bending down
dark jersey is closer to camera at the angle you are shooting

Primarily because she's closer and you're shooting a relatively wide-angle lens. I say that rather than her posture, because her shoes look much larger than the other players' do as well. Also the fact that she's OOF compared to the other player tells you that she's at a different distance.
