I took this picture this evening. As I was driving home, parallel to the train, I realized that a second train was waiting for this one to pass. Had I known it was there I could have shot them as the closed on one another :( Oh well... maybe next time.

Nice catch. Too bad you missed the meet. We don't see to many of those (KCS Units) up here in MI. Better luck next time.

Until I started coming to this forum and got my interest in photography rekindled I had no idea how lucky I was to live where I do. There is a main line that runs between Houston and San Antonio that runs right thru the little town that I live outside of. They change crews just outside of town (about 5 miles from my house).

I like the shot but you may be able to bring the levels up just a touch. I can give it a shot for you if you'd like.

Jon.

Thanks. I would appreciate that. I'm still struggling with how something should look. My monitor is calibrated (Spyder 2) but I lack enough experience (or confidence) to know what I should be seeing.

Here's a really quick curves adjustment, not a lot though. Are you using Photoshop?

Cool. Thanks.

I took Dante King's suggestion and bought the 1Dsm2CSpro (external link) plug-in from Fred Miranda and ran the pic thru that. I made a pretty big difference in sharpness.

I'm using CS2. I've seen the curves selection but I have no clue how to use it...
