A lot of times when I use sports on my 300d the pic's are blury or it focuses on back round. Sometime even in portat it forcuses on back round

Attention to detail is as important to photography as it is to posting on forums.

Use the single centre focus point, and make sure you use a high shutter speed, 1/500th for fast moving sport would be a good target. Raise your ISO as high as you need to to get the shutter speed.

What Tim said. Try to shoot in Tv mode so you can set the AF to servo.

The 300D doesn't have AI servo, but I think sports mode does it.

Yeh, but I think the 300D cripples some things in sports mode making it not work in some sports settings. If recall, you can't really use this camera to shoot sports in low light because of its requirements in sports mode.

Ah, that explains why I couldn't switch to AI servo while in Ap mode when I was helping a friend set his 300D up for action shots. I could only get it to shoot with one shot AF. It does indeed switch to AI servo in sports mode. Is it really true you can't switch to AI servo in either Tv or Ap mode? And what about in full manual? I just assumed it was because I couldn't find it!
