This was shot with my Canon T1i on a tripod, with a Sigma 105 Macro lens. The end of the lens was approximately 10 inches from the glass. The Aquarium is nothing more than a 3 gallon glass carboy. The same thing they use to use in a drugstore to hold candy. The glass is green, thick, wavy and had dust on it. Still, the video came out pretty good, considering.

Way cool. I can imagine that it is easy to lose hours just watching all those tiny critters move around and live their lives.

HAHA, I sit here at this desk for long hours every day. The tank is on the back corner of the desk, next to a window. I watch it all the time. The worms you see are all through the bottom dirt there and in the early morning, they are all sticking up, waving in the water for food. It's very interesting, better than TV. :)

Very interesting, sort of an underwater ant colony.

It is. I had an ant farm as a little kid. It's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the tunnels. :)

Pretty cool, I used to enjoy taking a sample of pond water under a microscope, just brimming with life.

Yes, that is the reason I started it. I have a very nice microscope, and where I live, on the 45th parallel, winter is 6 or 7 months long and everything is frozen solid. Not much to look at in a frozen world. The original idea was to keep some river water alive through the winter, but then the idea changed to see how long I could keep it alive. 2 1/2 years so far and I still get lot's of things to look at. :)
