We are expecting a thousand millimeters of rain again, so the best way to counter the blues is to get out and take pictures :) This is the resident male anna's at a local nature park :)

Shot with 7D and Canon 400 mm f/5.6.

1/400 ƒ/5.6 ISO 3200 400 mm

In these pictures, is he standing on the branches by the feeder? Amazing photo considering no IS and the shutter speed is a mere 1/400.

Very good Jo, #1 looks to be the best exposed of the set (although it may look different on your monitor)

That first shot is my favorite of the group. We won't see hummingbirds until May.

Lol about the rainfall Jo.its here as well!
What fantastic photos!!1 I have one Anna at the feeder now, he has been here for a week, so far. no females following. It's early though, not a flower out here for them!

Again, stunning images.

The feeder is probably 2 or 3 feet away. It was raining and I was the only one which probably made the anna's a little bit comforable to sit right in front of me. And I am wearing a hat with a camo net :) I also shot this in a tripod. Thanks for your kind comments.

Thanks Mark, I agree with you, for some reason #1 (and closely followed by #4) had a better exposure :)

Big yellow thing? Sorry I don't know any big yellow thing. Or do you mean the sun? Ops, sorry, almost forgot about that thing that we rarely see here :)
