Sometimes I like to take a break from the frame-filling closeups, and shoot images that showcase the habitat in which the birds are living. Once the river ice around here starts to break up, it lasts only a few days before flowing out to the main stem of the Columbia, so I don't have many opportunities to capture these types of images.
