Titiwangsa horned tree lizard. She was in the middle of the road and wouldn't budge when our car approached. I got down to photograph her with a point and shoot. She didn't like it and bared her teeth at me!

Excellent shots, but with the diseases they carry, I would never allow one of those drill in me if I could help it. :)

Love the name of the lizard. Appeals to my immature side. :)

Great mossy shot - bursting with your blood. I wonder if it chose the wrinkle as an easy entry point?

Lovely shots; glad you didn't squash the fine looking lizard. Used to wonder if mosquitoes could carry the AIDS virus. There are several reasons why they do not the most interesting being that their proboscis is unidirectional with regards to feeding, the anticoagulant being delivered by a separate passage.

Toby, it's not the blood going into him that can cause the problem. It the diseases they carry, like West Nile Virus, Dengue Fever, Malaria, Rift Valley Fever, Yellow Fever. They do have saliva and other bodily fluids of their own, and that's what carries the virus's. (external link)

Agreed they transfer other viruses but was just interested as to why they don't carry AIDS, another reason being they simply do not injest enough of it.
