A couple of shots of the SpaceX launch from Canaveral Air Force Base (Cape Canaveral) yesterday morning.
Conditions for photography were not ideal: windy, a bit overcast, and as you can see, a fair bit of heat haze on the water (even though it wasn't all that warm).
Taken with a T3i, 100-400mm plus 1.6x TC (640mm equivalent), ISO 800, 1/2500th sec.
Not nearly as brilliant as Mike Deep's photos posted last October, which were from a lot closer...
EDIT: just noticed the dust blobs - need to clone those out. Look for updated shots shortly...funny how I couldn't see them until I was scrolling the post up and down.
