7D + EF-S 10-22mm vs. 5D3 + EF 17-40L

That will be an auspicious day. All three crop lenses I've owned (Canon 17-55 f/2.8 and the original Sigma 17-70 along with the 10-22) served me well. However, the 10-22 was my least used lens during the 7 years I've owned it -- not because of it's quality, but because I just do not shoot a lot of UWA.

Hopefully, the 17-40L's larger focal range overlap with the 24-105L -- vs. the 10-22 + 17-55 combo on my crops -- will allow me to use the 17-40 more than I used the 10-22. For our next Myrtle Beach trip, I may just leave the 24-105L at home to force myself to use the new 17-40. A kit with the 5D3, 7D, 17-40 and 100-400 should still cover me quite well.
