Plus, this area is about 100 miles North of where the last glaciers stopped and began their retreat. There are valleys and rivers and streams everywhere, and ponds and lakes. Perfect breeding grounds for so many species. And the Mississippi is just a couple miles from my house. Here it is more than a mile wide, slow moving, lots of backwaters and channels. It really is mostly forest, waterways and meadows. Very primitive still. Mitch- ____...^.^...____
