RedCart?
bigcartel?

Whats wrong with having a portfolio website with a store option? I have a subdomain that I use RedCart with to sell prints but I update my website/blog with my work

There are also E-commerce plugins for Wordpress.

Thanks for the options, I want a portfolio with a store option, 500px doesn't allow you to sell from the portfolio. I'll look into RedCart as a subdomain. Thanks!

If you're serious about photography as a business, I'd go with a personal website. If you can't afford to hire someone, you can always use the templates that are provided by companies claiming to build a website in 5 min :) There's usually a higher monthly fee associated with them, but that'll get you started at least.

I really like Zenfolio, you can setup a store, have galleries, etc... build your own website design. They have added tons of options that I don't take advantage of but it's an awesome service.
I have my own WordPress service with a Zenfolio gallery page and store page.

You can get a domain and hosting so cheap now a days that I think it would be silly to not go that route. simple/free wordpress themes can be made to look quite nice as well.

I went this route myself. www.hover.com (external link) for the domain and www.squarespace.com (external link) for the hosting.

20 Bucks a month for unlimited access hosting and 15 per year for the domain. 35 per year on the domain if you include a single email box.

If you are starting a business, make sure you buy your own domain and get a host to install wordpress. Reason is wordpress sites are SEO friendly and it will help you rank high in google for search results.

In regards to your email, don't use gmails or hotmails. That look unprofessional. Would you hire someone who doesn't have their own business domain as their email? Seems sketchy, right?
