The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles hosted Corvette Day, and the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray made it West Coast debut. Here's a few shots...

And for contrast, here's the very first Corvette made - the EX-122 which debuted at the GM Motorama in 1953...

Love the 'Vette and hate to ask, but what is that car way behind the 53?

I had a huge model of the '53 when it came out. Loved it.

It's called the Streamline X Gilda, from 1955. It's part of the museum's art & science of aerodynamics display. I'm including the info sign, although I took a crummy shot of it.

Sorry, no interior shots. They kept the doors closed, and with the glare from the spot lights, I could not see in very well.

If you're going to get the Stingray, why not get the Hennessey upgrade as well? ;)

I'm not a fan of the C7...the Camaro rear end on it kills it for me...not crazy about the rest either. On the bright side...with each consecutive generation, the C5s are getting cheaper and cheaper...starting to be within reach ;)

I can't wait until people start crashing these things! Not that I want anyone to get hurt, but the new LT1 is going to be a monster of an engine swap just like the LS1 is right now.

You may not have to wait nearly as long as you might have thought... ;)

Not my image...it's been making its rounds on the interdweebs for a few days at least:

I think most of it will grow on me eventually...I like the lines, and I think I'll get used to the headlights...but I doubt I'll ever forgive them the taillights haha...those belong on the Camaro, not a Corvette.
