Recently I was in a bar shooting with my MarkII and my 430exII wich is really nice.

I noticed that it would be even better to have another strobe to have some more light onto the people that I take pictures,

So I need something that I can carry easely outdoor, and that I could use also indoor.

Impact LiteTrek 4.0 DC Monolight and Mini LiteTrek (LT) Battery Pack Kit

Maybe someone could give me their opinion on this matter.

Thx, my friend told me about it,specially the Einstein

I have a question concerning sync mode.

I have a 430 ex II and 5d MK II
I'm new to flash ....

Last friday I was in a bars, shooting some Fetish models, cool stuff, the bar was dark and noticed I needed a fill light.

To sync those two flash (430 and Paul C Buff) can I be in ettl mode, or I need
some device to sync both of em, like a auto mode, not manually.
Cause the 430 exII is a pain to sync manually, you have to press one small button
and click another one, a pain in the but, I should have got the 580!!!!!

You cant be in ETTL mode if you want the optical slave in the PCB light to serve as your trigger. Monolights like the PCB's dont do auto. I'm not sure what you mean about not manually, and sync issues. Could you explain that again?

Hi, I am looking for a relatively inexpensive strobe to be used for shooting wall murals inside and outside of buildings. I am a college student, so I don't have a lot of money but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about lighting equipment I could get. Thanks! (external link)

What I meant with the sync issue, is that when I shoot with the 430 ex II, can the Canon flash sync the monolight in auto mode like ETTL,

As you mentioned, it does not, I need a option for wireless triggers and
use my flash on my camera

Hope you understand!

What camera are you using? If it has a PC synch port you can use manual radio triggers while still using the hotshoe.

I have the 5D Mk II.

I think the 430 exII can only be a slave!

i'm lost with all these different standards

I just want my camera flash to trigger a moonlight wireless
Not sure it's possible!

easiest way out for you would be 3x yongnuo 622c triggers.

that's what i use and they work perfectly, allowing me to retain ettl2 on my 430ex2, on or off camera, while manual triggering the "dumb" strobe (einstein) for fill.

edit: i tried faffing about with optically triggering the einstein--not worth it.

You need to stop pondering a gear purchase and do some reading on lighting. Any cheap wireless trigger can fire a monolight. Your 430exII in manual mode can fire the monolight as an optical slave, Just not in ETTL mode because ETTL uses a preflash. Honestly you probably dont want to mix ETTL and manual flash anyway as ETTL has a but of unpredictability built into it.

Cool, THX, I think its what I need, finally, it does exist!

I'll check it out!

It's possible and could be the best route, but the 430EX has to be in Manual mode. In E-TTL mode, the pre-flash will fire the off-camera strobe prematurely.

Otherwise, any radio trigger set, including the Paul C Buff Cybersync system can be used. You can plug the transmitter into the PC socket on your camera and fire a hotshoe flash at the same time, and you can use E-TTL if you want.
