Thinking of Upgrading from XT to T3i

I'm thinking of getting the T3i body. I don't see anything about card sizes. Is there a max. GB of card for the camera? What is a popular size to use?

I like the XT, but with a new computer, Windows 7. The XT transfer is not as easy as Windows XP.

The XT hasn't been used much in the last few years, but I took quite a few pics last summer.

Got the XT 7 years ago, looks like cameras changed a little since then. How's the video?

Sky's the limit as far as card size goes. 16GB or 32GB SD cards are pretty affordable and give you plenty of capacity for stills. You may want a 64GB card if doing a lot of video.

I use 8 GB in my T3i. I don't like to trust one large card for everything. I shoot RAW only and 8 GB gives me plenty of room.

I don't use video much with the T3i, but it has been perfectly acceptable. Manual focus is a pain sometimes, but quality is good.

Thanks for the info. Now I start reading about the T4i, for about $120 more. Guess I'll do some more reading.

Sorry T3i. I noticed everyone put the T4i on sale for $648.99. For $120 more I get a Kit Lens with IS & the newer Processor. I hit the order button.

Now, I have a few days to read about SD Cards. Seems there are quite a few & different speeds.

Something like this one would work well. I've never had any trouble with Sandisk cards.

I was at Fred Meyers for some food. I did a detour to their electronics section. They fastest card they had was a Class 10 - 20mb per sec. 16 GB card for $19.99

I decided to wait and read about the Classes on the cards. Looks like a Class 10 might be the way to go. I'll hit a couple more places and see what is in stock.
