It seems most bodies converted for IR are the older 400D, 20D cameras. Any reason beyond them being cheaper? I plan to permanently convert it so it seems like except for having a live view (on the newer cameras) the same factors would apply shopping for a body if I were not planning on converting it. Just want to make sure because when looking for a deal on used gear, you often have to be flexible on exact needs to get a great price.

Supposedly the older cameras are more receptive to IR, but that only matters if you're not doing a conversion and just adding a dark filter.

If you're doing a conversion I don't think it matters if you use an old body vs a new body, I'm guessing most people just use old bodies because of the price.

You can also get one already converted from Canon the 60Da (external link), which replaced the 20Da.
