I stepped back a bit when I said it was unfair to judge on a few images, but referred to the unfairness of the historical portfolio review. That was the era in which I worked. The era has changed, I am long retired but still see the world in those terms.

Lol.it is a series of photos of a beautiful girl who wanted her photos taken. Not a Diva looking to run up the ladder of model-dom.

No Sir I wouldn't! However regardless of the era you're used to, politeness is timeless. That's said, let's move on.

Lisa, I think this is a nice series - sorry, I'd meant to say that earlier - I would love to see some more once you've finished editing.

Two and three are my favs from this set. I also love the one with her fiance where she is pulling on the edge of her hat.

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mary make it big someday. She is absolutely GORGEOUS, with a personality to match...5'10" too so she's got the height! I have no idea how I can pick just 8 favorites, but I'll try (I still have 300 in her Lightroom catalog that I am somehow supposed to cull down to about 30). This girl cannot take a bad pic! These were shot with natural light (mostly...the piano shot was OCF) and a combo of lenses...the 50L, 85L, and 70-200L II. More on my blog if you are interested in seeing some of the others.

I am a big fan of your work. Two questions:

1. About what % of your shots are with flash?

2. What is the typical range for number of shots taken during a senior portrait session?

Probably 99% of my photos are all natural light only. I break out the OCF for a few shots usually on my senior sessions, but that's about it. I typically take about 1 8GB memory card worth of photos per session...so 300 maybe? Then I painfully cull them down and show around 25-35 edited images. I went a little overboard with this session.

I have to admit, I was slightly annoyed when I opened your image heavy post on Miranda... Only because I kept thinking, "Damn it, why dont my images look like that."
