Using gels is fun and let's you add a bit more creativity to your shots. I just recently started using gels and I love them. I try to incorporate them into shots whenever I can. It adds that much more to a shot,I think. So,post them up.

Here are a few of my examples using gels.

first strobist shot :D (external link) by hyofoto (external link), on Flickr

used rogue honeycomb grid for first shot, snoot (large flashbender) for 2nd shot. both using rogue universal gels--quite convenient, and you don't even need to buy the round gels for the honeycomb grid.

Great photos all!

Can you tell us (as you go) what gel was used with each photo, so that we can learn a bit more on this (very interesting (to me)) subject?

Full CTO Gel to turn he ambient blue. Its not as drastic a change since the flash is just lifting the exposure on him so there is some cool daylight with the CTO.

And perhaps add some info about specific techniques used, as well?

Red gel on speedlight camera right, blue gel on speedlight camera left. I wanted it to look like police lights on his face.

Nice shoes. I've been looking for a pair of two-tone slingbacks like those.

Thank you! Its funny because its hard to know sometimes what exactly goes into an image. My wife had to hide the firemans hat from him because he refuses to wear it. Id get him to stand where I wanted, she would plop the hat on him, and I would get one shot before he had removed the hat and ran off. I took 4 shots total, this was the third one. Then he went into meltdown mode and that was that. :D
