Excellent shot. I am sure I have taken a shot from more or less the same spot at Lake Tekapo a few years ago, but that super wide angle makes the far side of the lake and mountain a lot further away. I found the light in S. Island NZ was fantastic, I was using a fairly basic film camera at the time. Would love to go back with my digital set up. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Guys,

Well, I'm new to these forums tonight ... and I'm quite impressed from what I've seen so far. I thought I'd start off by posting one of my favorites - a shot I took last year on New Zealand's South Island, at Lake Tekapo. An absolutely amazing place, certainly one of the most beautiful places I've had the pleasure of travelling around.

I'm heading back there in about 4 months, and I can't wait. I was over there for 16 days last May/June, but it was nowhere near enough time.

great shot, great first post

Many thanks for the kind words everyone, much appreciated :)
This really looks to be a great community .. great knowledge, and very friendly! I look forward to contributing any way I can.

Here are a couple more photos, also from around Lake Tekapo. I hope I'm not posting too many images.

cversion7: I think the EXIF data should be intact in all these images for camera settings, etc. That first one was taken at 10mm, f8, 1/80s, ISO100.

Here are the last two I'll post for now, still from around Lake Tekapo. I wish I'd had more than a day and a half there, it's such a great spot. These are the weakest of this set IMO - which I guess is why I've posted them last! :)

Even though this trip was last May/June, I've still only processed photos up to about day 4 of 16 .... I don't know about you guys, but I never seem to have enough time. It's one of my new year's resolutions to catch up with my photo editing/processing ... hopefully it's one I can keep :)

Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

Wow. I'm just wondering when we are all going to meet there and take our own pictures? Those scenes just don't look real. If the road wasn't there, I'd say the whole thing was computer generated. The shots are amazing. Thanks and truly, WELCOME. Can we meet at your place for the next POTN gathering? ;)
