The Elephant Room in Austin is one of a few venues that offers only jazz. It is a classic space, below street level with little in the way of architectural enhancements.

What was the rest of your EXIF data? I'm thinking that you may have been able to open up your aperture or slow down you shutter a little more so you didn't have to raise your ISO so high.

I was shooting at speeds somewhere between 1/60 and 1/100, F stops 2.8 to 5.6. If I slowed the shutter below 1/60 I would have had camera shake, which I didn't want. The 40MM is a max 2.8, the 28MM is a max 1.8 and neither has IS. The noise on the 16,000 ISO doesn't bother me at all, it reminds me of shooting pushed tri-x in the "olden" days.

Fine shots, reflecting the atmosphere at the venue. Like much #1.
