Those were taken at 1/6 to 1/8  The stabilization was pretty good but I find the images noisy...most of my night shots are noisy :( I shot that at ISO 500, that is not suppose to be noisy.

Yes there's a big river very near the station  Sumida River.

The gate ISO 400 1/15 17mm (FF=34mm)

This one is at ISO 400 1/13 17mm (FF=34mm)

what Pigeon?
My 70-300mm had stabilizer so I am pretty used to it. now practically all my lenses are stabilize because the sensor itself is stabilized... it's in body stabilization.

this one was taken at 0.4 seconds (1/2.5)

I went to Asakusa and watch the Hotaru Festival at Sumida river...too bad I was not able to use my tripod... it would have been awesome but there was just too many people, I arrive about an hour before the event but the venue is already packed.

Panasonic dropped 100,000 balls to the river to make it look like there are fireflies...

and the back drop is the Skytree... tallest free standing tower in the world

Gorgeous photos Steven! Are you in Japan on vacation again?

Woa, I did not know this. That's interesting. I wonder if that creates resentment among some couples when the husband doesn't agree with the amount of allowance his wife gives him.

hahaha nahhh she can't touch that... it is indeed very common here for husbands to give almost all their salary to their wife and just give a daily allowance.
