The first ramen shop my sister and I went into, they were using this ticket machine to order, and I had no clue what it was at first, lol. Anyway, I figured it out and we got our ramen. This skinny businessman comes in a bit after us, orders a bowl twice the size of ours, slurps the noodles and downs the broth like there's no tomorrow, and he's done before we're even halfway. Impressive. ![]() Yeah it's fat, but that's what I mean by rich. The broth is meaty and full of flavor (and fat) lol. Tumbles down with a bloody nose. Your friend missed out. I always hate it when I decide on staying put and then something interesting happens and I miss it.I always like the events ones because they're different, and pretty much once in a lifetime. But I still like my Santouka spicy miso ramen. I think I once ended up getting both a special event ramen and my usual because I didn't want to pass on either, lol. It's all about the Original 1762! I like most of them, but the Original is their signature for a reason. ![]() krepta wrote in post #15980000 Good thing it's lunch time because Baan, you're making me hungry with those food pics. I can't make it to Mitsuwa or Earl's from here, though. ![]() ![]() yup, you snoozed you lose ;p

Alex.
i thought it was good, until I got tired of the taste after a few tries :P but it still is a good try. the ramen is good., but sides are just ok. i like the tonkotsu miso and the jia jia men. i had one with extra pork and it was too much pork for me hehe. another i thought that was decent was this. what i dont like is the serving is small and it is average ramen price. 8-9$ i think i will have it again for a better picture :P they have one in marukai market in costa mesa. the one i went to was in gardena.

This was a fill-in class in my last year, as I had already fulfilled the requirements for my major and minor, but I took it to have enough units to maintain full time status. And it was the easiest class ever. I showed up on the first day, the day of the midterm, and the days for the midterm review and final review. I had the class aced if I had just showed up for the final. Instead, I received an Incomplete. Bwaaah! -_-# DTBaan wrote in post #15980045 those machine are very cool hehe i know what u mean about the japanese men coming up and slurping the bowl away like it was nothing :P I will give the classic a try next time. ive tried a few others and it just didnt do much for me so I just stick to the club and holiday turkey. the tuna was not bad though. whatre u having for lunch? :P all i got is a left over carne asada burrito that was left on sat.. hope its still good lol I was going to grab something from the cafeteria downstairs, but one of my coworkers came back from lunch and gave me the half sandwich and fries she did not finish. Free food, good enough for me. DTBaan wrote in post #15980137 Alex. give this place a try. it's off the 5 on mcfadden. i thought it was good, until I got tired of the taste after a few tries :P but it still is a good try. the ramen is good., but sides are just ok. i like the tonkotsu miso and the jia jia men. i had one with extra pork and it was too much pork for me hehe. another i thought that was decent was this. what i dont like is the serving is small and it is average ramen price. 8-9$ i think i will have it again for a better picture :P they have one in marukai market in costa mesa. the one i went to was in gardena. Thanks, I'll give them a try some time! I've always wanted to do a ramen adventure where I go try all the local ramen places. It's not an original idea at all, plenty of people have blogs dedicated to ramen, but it sure as heck would be fun and delicious. Alex | flickr

Those of us who live way out in Nowheresville don't have such options. There is a Chinese restaurant in Benson that is okay, but that's it! Their Wor Wonton Soup is pretty good, but it is Canton style. I very much prefer Hunan or Szechwan. Other than that, we have the all-time worst Denny's in the U.S. Even tramp truckers won't eat there. Of course, we do have Reb's Cafe, but the less said about that the better. Come visit LA! Plenty of food options. Well, if you're willing to put up with the horrible air and maddening traffic. pixiepearls wrote in post #15980991 I have been a bad girl. I kinda love that. I never like to bring stuff because of how easy it would be to steal by just opening a zipper in a crowded situation so I never bring my camera times when I would like too. This would solve for that and would be great for the airport carryon option. I hope I love it, eek! The guy in the photo wearing it, is wearing the (L) not the (S), as I am 5'2 I think the (S) will be more then enough. Apparently I am a phottix fangirl and didn't know it. That Crumpler backpack is awesome! If I didn't already have tons of camera bags... I also like the design with the opening in the back. The price is a bit steep, though, even for a quality camera bag. But I say that as someone trying to save for a FF DSLR in the near future, hopefully! Alex | flickr
