Yep, everyone with a smartphone is now a photographer. It kinda echoes what Marissa Mayer said at the launch of the new Flickr. Sad times for actual photographers.

(And I don't include myself in that category. I know more about light and techniques than the average person, but I am still just a hobbyist.)

i'm hating the new trend.. annoys me when i'm about to take a shot and someone pops up their ipad right in front of me to take their picture. no respect and selfish act. even some hobbyist-pros would do that to others.

oh ok. oh well.. i for incredible ;P

kohru's not bad. broth is good, noodles is same as santouka, meat is lean. how can you not like it? :P I like mentatsu too, i always get the mabo ramen. oh and their fried rice kicks butt!! :) ajisen i just like the spicy pork or something, everything else is just blah. well not that i tried everything, but ive tried a few and didnt really like it. ive been wanting to try this one called foo foo tei in 626 area but never got the chance. maybe try it soon.

Yeah, not sure why some of my friends don't like Kohryu even though they like Santouka.

The mabo ramen is my favorite at Mentatsu lol! Fried rice is good there too, but the best fried rice in that area is the spicy kimchi fried rice at Hashigo (not a ramen place, it's a Korean fusion place, not sure if you know it), with a fried egg on top. I'm making myself salivate right now.

Its always a sad thing when people spend 3k on a camera and put it in a $50 bag, heh! (unless it does the job and protects it well, but cheap zippers = bad business).

I started with a cheapo $15 bag that didn't last too long, but that was for my Rebel XT at the time lol. I now have an assortment of LowePro and Tamrac bags, and I also like products from Crumpler, Think Tank, and Kata. I think MSRP usually runs around $100-$300 for good bags, but they can be had for slightly cheaper through retailers rather than direct. I agree that a few hundred dollars to protect your thousands in camera and lenses is a good investment (the same thing can be said of tripods as well), but since I already have seven that serve me well in all situations, I'm not willing to buy another one right now. In other words, I just wish that Crumpler bag was cheaper so that I could justify buying one when I clearly have no need for it.:lol:

ive always wanted to take a pic of this bird in the ride but never could. got one side, trying to get the other side.. will need to manual focus next time.

This ride is almost as awesome as the Winnie the Pooh ride. Almost.

My mom got an iPad less than a year ago, and she is absolutely one of those people who pops in front of others, blocking the view of others with the huge device. At a wedding in March, she unknowingly got in the way of the pro tog a few times. I can tell her to be careful not to impede someone's view, but I can't tell her to stop taking photos with her iPad all the time. She won't touch a P&S camera anymore because the iPad is so convenient (for sharing "instantly", when in person). Instead of uploading her photos to Picasa for her friends to view from home, she prefers to meet with them and bring her iPad to show them the photos. I just can't... -_-#

maybe they are biased cuz of santouka :P before the first ramen I had was the best! heck it still would have been if it was still as good. i tried santouka later and didnt like it because i just thought the one i go to is better. i didnt like santouka until my 3-4th try.

never heard of hashigo, but im also not a fan of kim chee so i guess i would have to pass on it heheh.

bag wh0re ;p

as for the ride, pooh is nice cuz of the waving vehicle :D i thought the mermaid ride would have been awesome if there were bubbles everywhere :)

I thought Santouka was okay at first too. It became my favorite after I had ramen in Japan lol, I guess because I feel it comes the closest to the real deal. I also used to like shoyu ramen the best (among shoyu, miso, and shio), but I can't say enough how good the spicy miso ramen is. I'm a miso ramen fan now (spicy or not). :D

It's on Bristol, next to Anjin, and close to Mitsuwa. They have something called Bootcamp Ramen that is spicy and has spam. It's interesting and worth trying once. :)

Well, she doesn't do that to try to be cool, but taking photos (and showing them off) on the iPad is really fun to her. So I'm mostly nice about it to let her have her fun (and she's my mom, I'm not going to outright scold her), but yes, it's a bit embarassing, especially when she does that during an event where there is an actual photographer and she gets in the way. I guess I will embarass my kids one day too, if I ever have kids.

There should be a cartoon like that with people holding iPads instead of cell phones. A wall of iPads blocking the view, lol.
