as for the ride, pooh is nice cuz of the waving vehicle :D i thought the mermaid ride would have been awesome if there were bubbles everywhere :)

Lol, well, my friends and I take it as the Pooh ride is like tripping. All the bright colors and animated patterns, the wobbling of the vehicle, the happy, relaxed aura... what is in that honey, Pooh?

Alex, shoyu, shio, miso are not exciting enough... not enough fat in them haha i've only been to 1 shoyu ramen place and never tried miso yet though. It has always been a version of tonkotsu or tsukemen for me :)

I thought Santouka was okay at first too. It became my favorite after I had ramen in Japan lol, I guess because I feel it comes the closest to the real deal. I also used to like shoyu ramen the best (among shoyu, miso, and shio), but I can't say enough how good the spicy miso ramen is. I'm a miso ramen fan now (spicy or not). :D

It's on Bristol, next to Anjin, and close to Mitsuwa. They have something called Bootcamp Ramen that is spicy and has spam. It's interesting and worth trying once. :)

I have more camera bags than I have L lenses. T__T

Well, she doesn't do that to try to be cool, but taking photos (and showing them off) on the iPad is really fun to her. So I'm mostly nice about it to let her have her fun (and she's my mom, I'm not going to outright scold her), but yes, it's a bit embarassing, especially when she does that during an event where there is an actual photographer and she gets in the way. I guess I will embarass my kids one day too, if I ever have kids.

There should be a cartoon like that with people holding iPads instead of cell phones. A wall of iPads blocking the view, lol.

hehe i had ramen here before i tried Japan. and when i tried the one in Japan I said to myself 'the one home tastes better' I can say the same to taiyaki. I didnt have any good ones there that I tried, which was minimal.

ramen and spam? rather wierd.. but ok if i feel like some adventure lol

i'm hating the new trend.. annoys me when i'm about to take a shot and someone pops up their ipad right in front of me to take their picture. no respect and selfish act. even some hobbyist-pros would do that to others.

Oh, you like bare stories? Did you hear of the one where adventurer Bear Grylls discovered a place that he named after himself where there were tame bears with no coat of fur, and he rode on one of them naked? Bare Bear bear bare bare Bear.

(I'm using the archaic past tense of the verb bear, bare, in there to make it work, lol.)

I have yet to have tsukemen, but I do love tonkotsu. Not many places have either of those around here (or maybe I just don't know), but you can have char siu with almost any ramen, so you still sort of get the pork fat and flavor in there, lol. At Santouka, I tend to order the extra pork spicy miso ramen for that extra pork fat richness! :D

It's very creepy! What is Disney trying to teach to kids?!

I think it's a Hawaiian thing. They love spam with everything. So you have a Korean American fusion place that serves a Korean Hawaiian style Japanese dish. :)

Not for me. We get Thursday off, but we have to work on Friday July 5th. For Christmas and New Year, we get the day of and the day after off, but not the day before or any other days around them that fall on a weekday. That's company observed paid holidays. Of course, you can always take a vacation or sick day.
