I would pick Nikon based on the sensor alone. :)

That shouldn't even be a question! :p D800 FTW!

I would pick Nikon because the big lenses are cheaper, not including the 800mm of course.

^^There are so many factors to weigh in on what system is better for each individual. :)

WHAT??? a 16-35 is not good for architectural shots??? A tse is too specialized. It wouldn't be usefull for much else would it?

Take a look at Samyang's soon to be released 24mm T-SE lens.

So if thats true, I could buy the older style 70-200 without the IS? :) that might be a treat :D I think the bokeh is better on the 135 tho, and I am a bokeh slut.

I would not suggest that. F/2.0 135L is a special lens. The IQ of it trumps the 70-200 2.8 non IS.

16-35 is fine for that. You don't need a specialized lens if you aren't doing it professionally especially since the 16-35 is useful for more then just architecture landscape shots plus it has zoom.

It's the difference of fixing distortion in PP (I'm sure there is a technique for it) or before the shot is taken.

As far as usefulness, it's as useful as any other manual focus lens that is really sharp with a few tricks up it's sleeve.

The problem with fixing in post is especially on the really wide end with lenses you have to frame much wider than you want the end result to be, which can sometimes be difficult when you're inside.

Well that is unless you're ok with a lot of distortion in your pictures. Some people are.

I'm loving this 5DIII. I'm sure the D800 is nice... But a 5DIII/7D combo is awesome. :D
