Mount Lemmon is INSANE! One of the guys I used to ride with tried to get me to go one time. That guy always kicked my butt when we went riding, there's no way I could have kept up with his group.

I think it's supposed to be one of the hardest climbs in the country. (And supposedly some people won't ride down, becuase it gets pretty sketchy).

I did some zone 2 yesterday... well I think it was zone 2, I'm not entirely sure where my zone 2 is since every calculator I use seems to give me a differnet range... It was nice, I like zone 2 training.

I would not suggest that. F/2.0 135L is a special lens. The IQ of it trumps the 70-200 2.8 non IS.

I'd never get a non IS 70-200. That lens sucks, I've had it after already owning a 135L. But then I sold both for a 70-200ISII and never made regrets!

Yup it looks crazy. The grade is an average of 3.7% the whole way up with some segments "flattening for a bit" at 2% for a breather  I want to head out there and do it

You should sometime. I'd love to do it too, but at the time I was on one of my many cycling breaks. That and it was really last minute notice like "Hey we're riding Mount Lemmon tomorrow."

Just remember, leave the carbon clinchers and home and put some new brake pads on before you start riding.

Come bike up Allegheny Mountain. It's around 10% grade. Some speculate that it is closer to 12. ;)

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

How long of a ride is it? The killer for Mount Lemmon is it's a 25+ mile ride.

10% grade is pretty rough though. There's a ride around here that hits 19-20%, it's kinda scary because you cannot stop...

Oh she did like the full ride though, starting with the flat section in Tucson, so 3.7 would make sense.

5.7% is brutal... Especially for more than a couple of miles.

I need to get out and do this ride again. It's only 2.5% or so, but it's a long steady climb. (Soooo boring though ). It's one of those hills that is so long it's even boring going down it.

That is an excellent training hill! Perfect for repeats and trying form sprints!

I have one near me that really is a kicker. I add it at the end of my training rides sometimes and it completely kills me
