Why not just get a 24 1.4? It's wide but not that wide. 35mm isn't wide enough for architecture shots, but if you have enough room it is. I can also post up some 100% unsharpened crops that will blow you away at how sharp the 35 1.4 is.

Actually.. here's 2 100% crops of the same person. One w/o sharpening and the other with LR's default. I couldn't use the one with the default setting since it was wayyyy to sharp and compression ruined the image.

And sometimes 16mm is barely enough!

I have 24-70 so I already have 24mm. I think I need to sell my 24-70 lol. Its locking me out of a lot of other lens's I want. I like fixed vs zoom, nbut the 24-70 is such a work horse it doesn't seem wise to ditch it. It also really sings on my mark iii. I never liked it on my classic.

trade it for a 24L? Or 35 1.4? or 85L?

I really get frustrated with Adorama, I never seem to realize something is out of stock until AFTER i buy it in the confirmation page, they need it to be IN RED on the check out cart and I mean the whole item not just 1 tiny thing. It's the second time I've had several things in my cart and missed that 1 thing was out of stock. They need to fix that on their site, if its happening to me, it's happening to other people.

What do you guys set your in-camera sharpness at?

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

Has happened to me once as well. I forgot what happened, I think they wound up having it in stock.
