Took my refractor out the other night on a ballhead and tripod for a minute and the moon was very low on the horizon with a thin layer of cloud looming about the sky. I had been meaning to do some tests with my new refractor and hotech flattener so I was pretty happy with the lack of CA in this shot. I cropped the shot down a little, maybe 45% and saturated pretty intensely to reveal some colors. The refractor is an f7 560mm so on my aps-c that is an 896mm focal length.

thanks malveaux, my only gripe is that I let it over expose a bit, but there is always next time.

Nice shot but, I would remove the saturation. From earth (even with a powerful scope) the moon is a variety of white and gray shades, it has no discernible color.
Also, the image would benefit form having a little less sharpening. There're a lot of sharpening artifacts around the craters.
