So I recently calibrated my monitor with some issues but now I'm seeing that my monitor may be printing with much more contrast than my monitor displays. I feel like the only way I can confirm this is by testing with an image from the web and see what you guys see.

Does this photo after a slight, low contrast wash to it or is it nice and contrasty to you? Also does the background have a slightly yellow hue to it?

Basing any kind of correction on a web image is an exercise in futility. ;)

I don't see anything that I would characterize as low contrast. What little of the background that shows is sort of yellowish, I would say; zooming in I see mostly red, green, yellow, and brown pixels.

Here's the histogram of the image. It pretty much spans the full range from 0 to 255.

I'm on a calibrated monitor and it looks to me. There is a very slight hint of yellow in the BG but it is so slight as not to be worth mentioning.

The image looks plenty contrasty to me. I don't know that I would call the background yellow but I suppose it may be leaning in that direction.

Im running two monitors: one is a cheap Acer 23" and my new one is a calibrated Asus ProArt IPS 24" lcd. The colors of your photo look great on the Asus and are yellowish on the cheap monitor. The white surounding your image is bright and crisp and white vs dull and lightly yellow tinted.

After reading the comments I validated that the low-contrast I saw on my monitor was abnormal. After some troubleshooting I found out that if I used an HDMI cable to connect my monitor to computer it gave this low-contrast wash to the entire screen. Switched to DVI and it looked normal after that. Thanks guys!

This is kind of weird though, any one ever hear of such an experience?

Glad you got it sorted out! That is strange, though. From what I've read, HDMI and DVI should be the same with regard to the digital video signal, although HDMI also transmits audio. Weird!
