WOW…Those are excellent shots I particularly like the De La Rosa picture in the Maclaren, how did the V6 cars sound compared to the V10’s.

What camera and lenses did you use for those.

V8's. although apparently a few of them are still running restricted V10's.

I can't wait for the season to begin. Qualifying should be very fun this year. Hopefully BMW goes with the M/// colors!

(I'm a huge BMW fan myself) Although I had to mask my shirt when I became friends with someone on Ferrari's team and he took me for a tour of the garage and introduced me to most of the team :)

Great shots. Looking forward to another close year of F1 racing.

That would be sweet, seeing orange McLaren, driving around on the New Zealand circuit in 3 years time.

Another BMW fan here! I can't wait for the season to start. Last year was ended up being a very exciting year for both the drivers' champ and contructors. Hopefully BMW will have a better year... I hope Villenueve does well (Canadian boy), although I was surprised that BMW kept him. Maybe he's got some magic left in him....

Martin.

Looks like the McLaren. The sidepods give it away. At first I thought it WAS the McLaren, but the chin-wing and lack of those viking wings took away from its "monstrous'ness".

Were these handheld or did you use a tripod? And the reach of that 400mm is crazy! Or were you very close to the track?

And how DO those v8's sound? I'm planning to go to my first F1 race this year at indy. I'd love to hear 22,000 RPMs blowing by you. Thank god for lower displacement (2.5L for this year I think?).

Defo not a Macca...just check out the propeller on the nose...

All shots hand held...

They sound just as loud but a slightly deeper tone. The Williams is the one to listen to though, it sounds like the traction control works on the "bucket of bolts" system...

The best sounds came from Honda, BMW and Toyota.

Martin.

Very nice shots. I can't wait for the season to get going. May there be a "race" this year for the title.

Yes, I was saying that I thought it was a McLaren at first, as I said. Then the lack of viking wings and the chin-wing gave it away that it was in fact not the McLaren.

Do you think the IS made the shots easier? Or was it bright enough not to really need it?

The williams have had a characteristic year after year to have superior mechanical grip over their aerodynamic efficiency. Maybe TC is their way of getting grip on the exits.

How does the mercedes sound?

The Merc sounded the same as the rest, nothing special.

I'm off skiing now for a few days...see you all Friday.

Martin.
