NPS is currently predicting (external link) peak blooms Mar. 26-30. Guess we need to start thinking about when to meet up.

I am on spring break south and won't be able to go until April 1, Monday. Anyone interested in going then? I can't believe spring break is early and the blossoms coincide with that.

I don't know when, but I know that I want to go... I'll try to drag dad into going. ;)

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

I'm in. Weekends are best, but I can do afternoon or evening most weekdays. I enjoy night photography as well, so if anyone wanted to stay past dark, I would keep you company. :)

Dad says he would like to.... We will see. He wants to try to get a 17-40L or 24-105L first. Don't plan around us, but I think we will probably come.

I can come April 1 week. Anyone want to meet me by the boats? We can take a cab to anywhere for lunch. Sounds like it will be sooner than later, the blossoms.

Thanks for the update, with the light snow fall this morning I hadn't really been thinking blossoms.

I have an engagement shoot there on March 23rd, and with what the weather's been like (REALLY COLD), I don't think there's going to be anything on the trees. I dunno how accurate this peak bloom prediction is.

They update it regularly. Last I saw in the WP was early April, but I haven't checked the NPS site recently; been a little busy buying and selling residences. Moving day is Mar. 28, so that (Cherry Blossoms) ain't gonna happen for me then. The latest bloom schedule (external link) (updated regularly) shows green buds Mar. 11, which is in line with (or a little ahead of) the Mar. 26-30 peak they called for earlier. But monitor that link for an ongoing prediction.

As of yesterday, I guess, since there was a bit in the Post this morning, NPS is predicting April 3-6 for peak. Which is somewhat odd since their table of milestones shows both green buds and visible florets a couple of days ahead of 2010, when peak bloom occurred Mar. 31. Guess I need to try to graph the events and see what it looks like on average.

News here tonight must have read the NPS prediction. They mentioned the end of the first week in April. Not sure what the schedule looks like. I'd like to get back up and spend another day or two.

Let us know - our move's slipped to the 8th, so we might still have a spare room (and even a bed in it!).
