I can't get onto the Adobe forums at present, so--

We need to do another Bridge (CS5) slideshow for a studio tour. As in the past on my old display, the initial full-screen photo is not at all clear, but when you enlarge it ("+") which I don't want to do, it becomes crystal-clear/sharp.
The files are different sizes, but the issue is the same with all, and I've tried a bunch of different dimensions and resolutions.
Current display is a Dell U3011, 2560 x 1600, @ 101 ppi.

Very frustrating, as one of the reasons for getting the display was for these client slideshows.
??

Just wondering if it's a Preference issue. Under Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced I have "Generate Monitor Size Previews" checked and under Edit -> Preferences -> Cache I have "Keep 100% Previews in Cache" checked.

What are your settings?

Thanks, Bob.
I've since been on the Adobe forums (what a PITA) and it seems to be a common issue, even with CS6. They mentioned those pref. items, and some others as well, nothing worked. Bridge seems to be the unwanted step-child of Adobe, as they're already working on 7, and won't due a thing about issues with prev. versions. I only use it as a file browser at work, anyways.

I gave up and made a PDF of the files. Looks great as a slide show full screen, but w/o the nice dissolves, and not editable.

Thanks again.

Just one other question. Were the original images edited on a small screen, and then the monitor was swapped out later with something much larger? This would included editing on a laptop then plugging the laptop into a large monitor.

Sounds frustrating. At least you have a good work-around to use until you get a solution.

No, all done on the same desktop. The frustrating thing is that when you hit the + key and zoom in, it becomes razor sharp-- but then you can't see the whole image.

I would suggest trying "ProShow Gold" I have been using it for a while and it always works great! Reasonably priced, and they do offer a free demo.

Basically, you download the full program to your computer for the free trial. If I remember correctly, you get full use of the software, but the output is watermarked. Only if you then decide to buy the software, do you actually give them a credit card. They then email you an "unlock" code, which removes the watermark from any further projects.
