Just sharing what I found.
Not sure if I posted on right place, I tried to search this and cannot find it here (i could be wrong..) but seem interesting and may change the lens in future..

Cool if it can be applied to the visible spectrum of light, they say that this lens is designed for telecom wavelengths, which is basically from IR to just before microwaves. Since this lens is made for fiber-optics, it makes sense why they would want it to be so small, but maybe it's also impractical to make in a large enough size for camera optics.

But how much gold is needed in a 400mm lens say....it is already 10k for a 500mm f4!! But a very interesting read.
