i did a shot for a model, they turned out great and i agreed upfront to give her rights to use the images for her portfolio and promotion standard TFP agreement, so now that i have them all ready to go, what size do i give her? full res?

also do i watermark them?

Let's presume for a moment this is a "real" model with commercial aspirations who wants to use the images to promote herself as such. In that case, she's like a commercial client who needs full rez images without your watermark. The same goes for a MUA or stylist who might be involved in a TFP shoot: Deliver to them full-rez, clean images.

If she's just a pretty girl who likes pictures of herself, give her something for Facebook with your branding on them.

I generally resize the batch to 2000x3000; this makes all the files a consistent size and is still plenty big enough to print. Since I'll almost always do a little big of straightening and cropping, the full resolution would otherwise be inconsistent from shot to shot. If we've done a specific shot for an 8x10 headshot, then I'll crop and resize that one to 2400x3000, so that it's already the right aspect ratio and is 300DPI at 8x10.

I'll also include a second set that's sized for web and social media (generally 1024px on the long edge), with a small identifying mark. Generally, models will be happy to leave my name/logo intact for their informal sharing on Facebook and such.

... so, yeah, exactly what RDKirk said, with the exception that "full rez" is actually a mild resizing for consistency's sake.

Full res, no watermarks. Don't be an ass that they'll hate.
You both weren't paid and did 50/50 of the work. So you need to give her high res files.
When I used to do fashion, All the models used to complain about "ass holes" who would give small resolution images that weren't even enough for portfolios. Standard portfolio size is 12x9".
8x10s are TOO SMALL.

If you want good feedback and and good rap in the industry(models talk...) take care of them and they'll be good to you. And if any of them make it big, you'll get a good credit and possibly some work.

thanks guys, i was planning on giving full res, but i wasn't sure of what the "accepted" practice was. I have a contract to cover me in the case they are used in anything other than self promotion.
