shoot in RAW, adjust in PS.
-zacker-

If you use Lightroom you can even adjust the WB of a jpeg. It's not as good as adjusting a RAW pic but it does do a lot of the hard work for you.

I was just at a Boston Bruins game and it says on the ticket 'No Cameras or bags'. I didn't have my camera with me that time. I wonder if that is just an arena rule?

I'm a SJ Sharks fan and they won't allow any camera lens longer than 6" in. Bummer I won't take the chance of taking in my 70-200L as it is always a long walk back to the car and I never feel good about leaving any of my camera equipment in my car anywhere.

I spoke w/ a photographer at a game and he told me it's an NHL rule regarding the lens allowances. They're (NHL) afraid amateurs will sell the pics and the NHL gets no royalties. $$$$ Go figure.

Beautiful shot of the next Gretzky....

Ron,
Next time you attend a game just pick and say to the person manning the door, one of your other 4 brothers who played in the NHL said it was ok.

:)

If you can do it, I can do it. I just have to figure out a different way to do it.

I really like your first shot of Crosby. The second one was taken from a little too far away, and came out a bit too dark for my preference. Last Caps game I went to I was told they no longer allow "large bags" and that I'd have to check my camera backpack at the side entrance to the Verizon Center. I was late for the game and the guys were in the middle of packing up their table, I showed him it was "just a camera bag" and that I couldn't possibly check it...then I distracted them a bit with some help from my wife, and we went in. :)

A manager at the Caps ticket office told me beforehand it was OK to bring the camera, and he hadn't heard anything about lens size restrictions. At a different time, I saw one of the security personnel measuring a guy's lens! Anyway, I have had my 20D with Tamron 28-300 in there several times, and my Canon 70-200 which is very conspicuous this last time when they gave me grief about the bag. Nobody had ever said a word about my camera bag before, but it was more about the bag than the camera. Once I got through the door nobody said anything to me about the camera or lenses (and plenty of other people had DSLRs too).

Here's my tip if you're bringing your camera to a Caps game: Bring only what you need in a small bag or just wear it around your neck. Give your spouse the bigger of the lenses to carry in her purse or under his coat ;), and try to look like a fan, not a photographer.

Keep those pictures coming!
