I had a preemie in the other day. Her name was Sophie, so I was looking to do something that worked with the origin of her name -- it means "wise". So I did an owl thing. The mom took a pic of me with her cell phone while I was shooting because she knows I'm rarely on the other side of the camera! I have a sunroom/bar on the back of my house that we call "Cassidy's Starlight Lounge". It has the best light back there, although I did use some flash on this.

Thanks, I choose to not do much photography professionally any more. I don't maintain a website or business licence any more, but I can't resist the newborns when they come my way. I love those itty bitty little babies!

Fantastic shot! Like the 'bonus' shot of you shooting too. Like you, I am rarely in pictures. I tell people that's why I started photography, to be out of the pictures. 😊

yes, and I always like to see pull back shots because the final product doesn't tell the story of how the shot was made. In this shot for example, you can see the chaos that is me when I work. Piles of fabric all over the place, I just never know what I'm going to need so I just bring it all out. In this shot, you can see that there is another "background" under the orange blanket. That is a piece of foam core with a brightly colored jungle pattern under it. It is easy to layer the blankets and just keep peeling them off to produce a new different one. You have to work fast with babies and that makes it simple to do with an overhead shot like this.

Awww, Sue! this is so cute! Love the hat! I, too, cannot resist the bitty babies :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
